About Richable
Richable is a Filipino personal finance publication and toolset. We write about money the way a friend who understands it would explain it — clearly, specifically, and without making you feel behind.
Why this exists
Most money advice available to Filipinos is either too generic to act on or too eager to sell something. Articles assume American tax rules. Advice arrives attached to a product. The tone is either scolding or hype.
Richable started because the writer wanted the thing that did not exist: money content built on Philippine realities — 13th month pay, SSS and PhilHealth deductions, GCash, BPI and BDO statements, supporting family, the actual cost of a condo in Metro Manila — written by someone willing to admit what went wrong in their own finances.
What we publish
We cover four areas, and we try to stay useful in each:
- Money Life — how Filipinos actually earn, spend, save, and get stuck.
- Credit Cards — using cards as tools rather than traps.
- Invest — growing money with Filipino-context decisions.
- Insurance — protecting income and family without fear-selling.
There are 31 articles so far. Many are written in the first person, including the mistakes — the pay cut that cost more than expected, the online shopping total that was double what memory said, the subscriptions that quietly kept renewing.
The tools
Reading is not enough if the numbers stay abstract. Our Money Tools turn advice into arithmetic: estimate your take-home pay after Philippine deductions, check whether a loan is actually affordable, work out an insurance coverage gap, or convert a bank statement into a categorized spreadsheet so you can see where the money went.
The calculators are free and run entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere. The statement converter requires signing in so we can keep it reliable, and it never stores your uploaded file.
How we make money
Richable is small and self-funded. The statement converter uses paid AI processing, so it runs on inexpensive credit packs. Everything else — articles, calculators — is free. We do not take commissions for recommending specific banks, cards, or insurance products, and we do not accept payment for coverage.
What we are not
We are not licensed financial advisors, and nothing here is personalized advice. We publish educational content: general principles, Philippine-specific mechanics, and honest accounts of decisions. Your situation has details we cannot see. For major decisions — a large policy, a mortgage, a portfolio — talk to a qualified professional who can look at your whole picture.
Read our editorial policy for how we research, source, and correct our work.
